Glass roof on puit de lumiere
This project involves the creation of a glass floor above an existing, unsecured skylight. During a visit at a recent acquisition property in Bordeaux, two children climbed onto the thin glass panels of the existing skylight. The parents had the excellent idea of securing the light weel without detracting from its aesthetic appeal. The first solution, which was to install metal railings, was quickly rejected. The solution was a glass floor. The constraint of the project was the short deadline as it had to be completed before the family moved in. STRUCTURE TRANSPARENCE carried out the study, design, manufacture and installation of the triple-laminated floor, in accordance with CSTB specification number 3448.
